We are the “business” responsible for the personal information described in this policy, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
2. Categories of Data Collected
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:
- Identifiers: name, email address, phone number, service address — when you call or email us to request service.
- Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, session duration.
- Approximate geolocation: derived from IP address to estimate service-area eligibility.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see our Cookie Policy.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (financial account numbers, precise geolocation, health data, biometric data). We do not collect payment card numbers on this website; service billing is handled separately.

4. Third-Party Sharing
We share personal information only with service providers that help us operate the Service, each under a written agreement restricting their use to the purposes we specify:
- Hosting & security: Cloudflare, Inc. (CDN, security).
- Analytics: Plausible Analytics (cookieless, aggregate only).
- Email delivery: Google Workspace (inbound service mail).
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. International Data Transfers
Our vendors may process data in the United States and, in limited cases, in the European Economic Area. Where data is transferred from the EEA to the US, the transfer is governed by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Retention Periods
- Service inquiries: 24 months from last contact, then deleted.
- Active customer records (work orders, invoices): 7 years, per California tax and contractor record-keeping requirements.
- Website analytics: 25 months, aggregated.
- Email server logs: 90 days, then rotated.
7. CCPA / CPRA Rights
California residents have the following rights regarding their personal information:
- Right to Know — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
- Right to Delete — request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing — we do not sell or share PI for cross-context behavioral advertising, but you may submit a request as a formal record.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information — we do not use sensitive PI outside permitted purposes.
- Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not deny service, charge different prices or provide a different level of quality because you exercised a privacy right.

8. Children’s Data (COPPA)
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, email us and we will delete it.
9. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Although we do not sell or share PI for targeted advertising, you may exercise the right as a formal record by emailing privacy@chimneysweepsincpro.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share.”
10. Security Measures
We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards: TLS in transit, encrypted backups at rest, least-privilege access, periodic staff training. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected California residents and the Attorney General of any reportable breach in accordance with California Civil Code §1798.82.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by an updated version number and “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
